The Iron Warriors Motorcycle Club (IWMC) Beartooth chapter in Billings Montana held its 14th annual poker run on Saturday, August 24th with a turnout of about 60 motorcycles and a few classic cars. The poker run is in honor of fallen officer Kevin Unruh, a 25-year veteran of the Billings Police Department. Kevin served our community with great distinction but sadly lost his courageous battle with cancer in 2015, Kevin will forever be missed by our members and our community.

Proceeds from our fund raisers are used to support our Fallen Officers Fund, which assists with officers and their families when a tragedy/emergency hits law enforcement officers, fire fighters, and other first responders.

Riders arrived at Beartooth Harley Davidson and were greeted with dozens of donated Krispy Kreme donuts to snack on while looking at tables full of raffle prizes donated by many businesses in our area.

Kickstands up started at Bearthooth Harley Davidson followed by a beautiful ride to 4 Aces in Hardin, Junction City Saloon in Custer, Blue Cat Bar in Huntley, and the final card draw at Tiny’s Tavern back in Billings.  Tiny's Tavern greeted us with a great area to hold our raffle drawings, high/low card giveaway, and a delicious lunch of pulled pork, beans, and coleslaw.

It was an absolutely beautiful day for a ride with clear blue skies, 85', and seasonally unusual green fields as far as the eye could see.

Most raffle ticket holders walked away with at least one prize, a full stomach, and the opportunity to talk with old friends and some new ones too. The IWMC are still selling raffle tickets for a Smith and Wesson M&P 45 pistol, the drawing will be held on Veterans Day, November 11th.

In an effort to keep the proceeds going to our Fallen Officers Fund coming in year round, the club will sponsor its 2nd annual Blue & Red Charity Ball on February 29th at the Billings Petroleum Club. Tickets for the black tie event go on sale October 1st and may be purchased by contacting Jerry at 612-716-030.
