Our April 2011 cover bike is owned by Don Toomay from Shawnee, Kansas. Don’s bike took 1st place in the Big Twin Radical Rigid class at this year’s 2011 All American Motorcycle Show at Bartle Hall in Kansas City, Missouri. From the moment Stripe and I saw this beautiful bike, we knew we had to shoot it for an upcoming cover. During our photo shoot I took the opportunity to ask Don a few questions for his bio in this month’s issue.
CC: Don, what is your occupation?
Don: I’m an iron worker.

CC: Do you have hobbies other than motorcycling?
Don: Nope, don’t need any.

CC: Why do you ride?
Don: Why doesn’t everyone?.

CC: How long have you been riding?
Don: I’ve been riding about 38 years.

CC: What was your first bike?
Don: My first bike was a Suzuki 50.

CC: How many bikes have you owned?
Don: A bunch.

CC: How many bikes do you currently own?
Don: My 2010 Custom Rigid Chopper, a 92’ Fat Boy and a 54’ Panhead.

CC: What do you like most about your chopper?
Don: The Ride.

CC: What is your dream bike?
Don: This is it…for now.”

CC: What is your most memorable riding experience?
Don: The first time is the most memorable, because I knew I had found something that I truly enjoy. .

CC: What is your least memorable riding experience?
Don: I don’t remember.

CC: To what motorcycle clubs or organizations do you belong?
Don: Outcasts.

CC: Which is your favorite bike night location?
Don: Frankie D’s.

CC: Do you have any tattoos?
Don: Yes, I have three. I have one on my ankle, one on my shoulder, and one on my back. The Grim Reaper is my favorite because it’s bad ass.

CC: Who is your favorite tattoo artist?
Don: My buddy Chris.

CC: Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself?
Don: I like riding in a small group because it makes it more fun.

CC: Who are some of your closest riding buddies?
Don: Big Jim, Dad and Jason.
