Frank Pate is the owner of Frank Pate Photography along with shooting for a couple of magazines and venues. We were fortunate enough to get him to share some of his awesome work with us.
Frank and his family drove down on Saturday for the 1st half of Bike week, electing to drive rather than take the bike this time as this trip was also a family excursion. Probably a good thing since they encountered a little liquid sunshine, but did manage to miss the hail storm, and enduring really cool weather, with temperatures in the 60degree range and winds, 20-25 mph, which meant there were red flags on the beach. Great way to start a rally that's on the beach huh!
They hung out on the beach, went and checked out Bruce Rossmeyer's H.D and a few of the vendors before hitting the road on Monday to spend a little time in St. Augustine then on to spend the night on Jeckyll Island in Georgia, where they were met with calmer seas and warmer air, then hit the road again for home on Tuesday
They also came across a wreck, that didn't seem to be life threatening. I'd like to think that was the only accident for the whole time, but probably not, just hope everyone made it home in one piece. Frank went down with the family, so there was no heavy partying going on there, but still got some great pictures and enjoyed Bike Week with the rest of them AND the family, while getting in some family fun time as well.
Will Peek is the Sales Manager at the Tuscaloosa Harley-Davidson shop in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Will was accompanied by Kayla; his sidekick for this adventure. They went down for the 2nd half of bike week, and in waiting until then, they got to enjoy beautiful weather for their whole stay
Along with checking out, the “Destination Harley” Shop, where the majority of the vendors were, (of course, Harley Man is going to the HARLEY shop-duh!), they also went to watch them ride the “Wall”. I asked him if he would do that if he were asked and of course he said he would. Will and his sister, Leah grew up Harley, with Harley in the blood, (dad owns 3 shops in Alabama) and cut their teeth on dirt bike racing, so naturally, he’d ride anything on any track! Now we just have to train him on how to operate a camera.
Our lead photo is the favorite of the photos submitted to the Daytona Bike week folks and was taken by: Dave-Denise Barnett, they congratulated them... we thank them!
And… Happy 80th Anniversary Daytona Bike Week!
