On Sunday, June the 14th close to 300 motorcycles gathered at the Moody, Alabama Civic Center to ride through a dozen or so neighborhoods that Lt. Stephen Williams used to patrol, I say used to because about a week or so earlier Lt. Williams went to respond to a domestic violence call at a motel, after arriving there he was shot and killed by the very same people he went to protect, leaving his family without a husband, without a father!
Later that same day, the Steel City Jeep Club was also joined by a few of those bikers and rode to the police station where officer Williams worked. Both events were a beautiful, heartwarming site, especially in light of the crap going on in this country. You have idiots teaching their kids that it is OK to stand on the side of the road with signs proclaiming their hatred for the police departments in this country and calling for the defunding of the police departments, some were calling them Bastards and that all of them are racist; totally ridiculous!
Well we hope that this showed Lt Williams family and all the other police officers that not everyone is that stupid, and most of us love and greatly respect these men and women for what they do for all of us.
I cried as we rode through neighborhood after neighborhood with people (black & white alike) outside their homes, lining the streets waving at us, holding signs in support of Lt. Williams, saluting and waving flags; it was truly a beautiful site and I'm sure that his family HAD to feel the love.
These 2 events raised around $12-$15,000 to give to Lt. Williams family.
R.I.P Lt. Stephen Williams and ALL of those who have lost their lives in the line of Duty and also to those who are no longer with us due to the Cornovirus!
