We've been falling a little short on finding events, rides etc to cover, so we've enlisted the help of some of our friends to share some of their adventures with us. This article is one of those adventures, which turns out are a culmination of a few adventures. I asked our friend, Christopher Litteral with the Alabama Law Tigers to share some pictures from a day trip he told me about, well come to find out, he had been doing a few little day trips with friends and family. The pictures peaked my interest, so I asked him to give me a little article to go with it, since the article sounds a little like what most bikers are probably feeling, I decided to share it with all of you, along with the awesome pictures that will surely make you want to go find these places, I know I do!

Chris and his firm’s two head attorney's (the Roden's) along with friend Chris Best aka "TV Biker Dad" and his sons, did more than just make the best of it, they seemed to really have a blast, and he even had fun working...from home. But lets face it; he has a job that he really loves so I would imagine that he has fun with it all the time.

These guys did the Covered Bridge Trail; we have some pretty awesome Covered Bridges in Alabama, and I think they found quite a few of them. Then there's the Baldwin County Castle Grand Day Hotel, come on...a CASTLE, how cool is that, it looked beautiful.

He rode to several different waterfalls (equally as beautiful) with friends, including Marisa Mills in Baldwin County and Camry Creek. Also rode to Lake Guntersville, Smith Lake and Wheeler Dam. They did some day trippin over to "The Club" by Vulcan in Birmingham and Oak Mountain State Park.

I'm impressed, just sorry that we weren't invited to ride along with them.:-)

PS: If you’re a biker in need of a Lawyer..... The Law Tigers is where you need to turn to!

             Riding with Christopher Litteral

“Springtime; my favorite time of the year. But this spring was different than most.

One of the many reasons spring is my favorite season is that everything starts kicking off for us riders. There is always some thing to do once spring arrives whether it be a bike night at your local hangouts, crawfish boils, attending state rallies, or a races. The choices for riders are endless in spring. Personally, I like to ride as much as I can, checking out new places and some of my old favorites, for hiking and swimming to cool off.

Everybody must work to support their motorcycle addiction. But the cool part about my job is that I get to do what I love while I work. I am the marketing manager for Law Tigers Alabama and I spend most of my nights and days during this time of the year at motorcycle rallies, events, races, bike nights, and being a resource to the riding community. I truly get to live the phrase “if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life”.

Like I said before this spring was different than most. This spring there was COVID. Our way of life and thinking were completely turned upside down. Our kickoff to riding season was cancelled. What was once parking lots, fields, and highways full of bikes for events and rides, was now just a memory of years before. Our lives as we had known it, were no longer totally in our control. We sat by our TV’s and phones for announcements on what we could and could not do. As we watched our schools close, local businesses close, events cancel, favorite restaurants shut down, and we could not help but wonder if or when our lives would return to normal.

Something I have learned in my life is to only focus on the things I can control. I could not control COVID or the stipulations we were put under. However, I can control my attitude, my focus, and my recreational activities. I did my best to turn a negative situation into a positive. Riding your motorcycle was not against the rules as it is a recreational activity. Riding is also a great way to get you outside and stay active mentally and physically. I decided this was not only a great idea for myself but for my children as well, so I invested in mini-bikes for the three little boys and this big boy!

I spent most of my days riding “Black Betty” my Dyna Super Glide Custom with my oldest son. We put in over 2000 miles visiting family and making stops along the way at some of the most beautiful historic sites in Alabama. Other days were spent riding around the farm on the mini-bikes with the boys. With them being out of school they had a lot of time to ride. We cut two tracks on the property and rode daylight to dark most days. As restrictions were lifted, I was able to go on rides with the head attorneys from the law firm, a few good friends, TV Biker Dad, and some dealer group rides (10 people or less). The new way of life takes some getting used to, but we did our best to practice social distancing and still enjoy what we love to do, together.

Leg events were canceled but we bikers were able to make the best of it, because we can social distance while doing what we love best...riding! So my colleagues (Matt & Bob Roden) and myself had fun hanging out and got to strengthen bonds with my sons, my kind of "roughing it"

COVID might have completely changed my favorite riding/event season however, I am grateful to be healthy and alive. Life as we know it may change forever. Some have lost loved ones, jobs, and over all stability of their lives. My thoughts and prayers are with those who are fighting, who have fought, or have lost their lives to this virus.”
