Rides, Rallies and Events Recap

We woke up Sunday morning, August 13, to an absolutely beautiful day for a ride! That in itself was a pleasant surprise, because this summer’s weather has been like Forest Gump’s box of chocolates.

It was an absolutely beautiful day as bikes started rolling into Riders Harley-Davidson in Trussville, Alabama for registration to the Burkett Center Ride.

It only took about six weeks, but on Friday, July 21, 2017, we finally managed to get the benefit bike show for Mark Buzbee won and done!

It was a beautiful day as we got up on Saturday morning April 22, 2017 to head over to the Veterans Brotherhood where they were hosting the “Bond Slaves” annual Blessing of the Bikes.

Panama City Beach Florida rolled out the “sand” carpet for the bikers from May 3-7, 2017. This being the spring rally, most people expect this one to be a little on the HOT side; some even opting to wait until October for the fall rally when it cools down. Apparently, Mother Nature didn’t get the memo this year!

It was overcast, with a little nip in the air on Sunday morning, March 5, 2017 as around 175 bikes rolled into the parking lot at Hardee’s in Pinson, Alabama. Actually, it was in the parking lot next to Hardee’s, as Hardee’s would not have been able to hold all of us.

The Thunder Beach Rallies have taken on a different “vibe” since the shakeup of the venue locations that used to run up and down Front Beach Road. Some of the older business’s that had been venue locations for years are no longer venues, and a few new ones have been added.

The “Old” Guys made their way to the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama on October 12, 2016 for the start of the Barber Vintage Festival, presented by Triumph.

On Sunday, September 24, 2016, around 60 bikers gathered in the parking lot at Rider’s Harley-Davidson in Trussville to register for this years ride to the Burkett Center. This is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Burkett Center, sponsored and coordinated by the CMA Pinson Chapter: C.H.R.O.M.E Cross Cruisers, and the Burkett Center PTA.

Have you ever had one of those rides you do every year, for many years running, and it never rains that day? Well for us, one of them has been the “Ride for Kids,” benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. We have been a part of this wonderful event for over 10 years and never seen a drop of rain. It’s like God told Mother Nature: “You can’t rain on this day!”
